(The Open Software Foundation) Фонд открытого программного обеспечения, организация OSFнезависимая некоммерческая научно-исследовательская организация, созданная Bull, DEC, IBM, HP, Hitachi, Philips, Siemens и рядом других фирм, для разработки открытых стандартов и UNIX-продуктов, базирующихся на стандартах X/Open и POSIX и независимых от корпорации АТ&Т. Стандартная реализация Unix под названием OSF/1 появилась в 1990 г., но не получила широкого распространения. Другие известные стандарты OSF - это графический интерфейс пользователя Motif и CDE (Common Desktop Environment - Общая среда рабочего стола).
